Every card in Time Spiral was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.

This card references Wheel of Fortune and is part of a cycle of rares featuring the Suspend mechanic and having no mana cost, forcing you to suspend them as the primary way to cast them. The cards all callback to one of the color's most powerful spells ever; the others are Ancestral Vision, Restore Balance, Hypergenesis, Living End, and Lotus Bloom.

As these cards have no mana cost, they must be suspended to be played from your hand, but abilities such as Cascade treat these cards as if their converted mana cost is 0, allowing you to skirt around suspend and play them immediately!

On the surface, it looks pretty good considering how red decks empty their hands quickly. However, many red decks also value their turn 2 spells (i.e. to counter creatures played last turn).
Even so, I guess you can play it depending on the deck your going against: skip this and burn vs. fast decks, or play it early for more advantage later vs. slow decks.
Though the suspend speed doesn't help if you drew this with an empty hand

Turn 2, + 4 turns later, does not equal turn 5.

no where near as good as the real wheel, but I can see it being played in a Jhoira of the Ghitu deck with Ancestral Vision , then you just wait on Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. That being said I dont play it cause I cant bring my self to play four and i never did draw it early enough to matter. Turn five and then four turns yeah the game will be over by then

It's better because you can actually get a playset of these AND use it in Legacy.

turn 1: swamp, dark ritual, megrim... turn 2: mountain, wheel of fate, turn 3: land, wheel of fortune= a few damage.. turn 4 stuff (megrim again maybe, or underworld dreams) turn 5: wheel of fate kicks in and a lot of damage. maybe a win by then..

fun for multi player... might as well add memory jar in the mix.

Wheel of fortune is only like $7-10 each, I don't see why it is that hard to get a playset Luke_PBC
