My vote put it just over 4/5, which is probably where it deserves to be.

I'd like a playset.

Comparable to Man-o'-War for blue utility creatures.

Mental warfare at its finest...

To be more accurate, I wouldn't want to run these all the time... against red burn they'd likely shock / bolt and that'd be that, yes you could sac to counter their bolt... but that was the point wasn't it? (Also worthy of note is that red burn wants to send that damage to the dome... so it still hurts them a bit.)

In any case, against a deck which does not have a tantamount of spot removal, you're looking at a solid investment... at the very least if they have to use one of their precious removal spells to blow it up then you're clearing the way for a larger creature in the future...

I'm still looking for a downside here...

It's just so delightful to not counter spells when your opponent knows you can at any time... so they play crap spell after crap spell hoping that you'll take the bait... amazing stall.

I'm done rambling.... In summary, I'm a fan.

Nearly every card in Time Spiral was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.

This card references Spiketail Hatchling and Spiketail Drake

Often times better than both Hatchling or Drake. priced right in the sweet-spot for what it can counter and the body it has.

One of the best commons I've seen... a really good all round card.

It's just a beefier, more potent version of Spiketail Hatchling. Which is awesome in every conceivable way. This family of cards might be some of the only genuinely playable drakes ever printed, with Peregrine Drake as a possible exception.

The Hatchling is probably the best one, but I like all the other ones too.

@majinara

"Bad version of Spiketail Hatchling"... uhhh...

1. More powerful creature, if need be.
2. Higher mana cost required to negate its counterspell ability.
3. Only 1 extra mana for both of the above effects.

To say this is 'bad' compared to the hatchling is just ignorant.
