Run this with a Parallax Wave and a few Auramancers and you got a reusable one sided Wrath of God.

@NeoKoda
Nah, he just believes in the whole concept of "greater good." Saving Dominaria at the cost of Serra's Realm is cold and calculating, but not evil. Dominaria is the center of the Magic universe, and if it was doomed, Serra's Realm would be too!

This would either slow things down, or your oppoent would drop a bunch of fodder out just to make it gone.

Desolation Angel

Moving on, use it in a control deck that doesn't run many creatures or with Unearth creatures, like Rotting Rats for hand control and madness cards to make up for the discard to yourself. Would be a solid old school WoG for cheap, which is really nice in a control deck since they tend to have higher mana costs in general.

Really poor flavour: should a planar collapse destroy lands?

I run it in a virtually creature less deck, and when this guy is in play, it ether stops the enemy from playing more than 4 creatures (which will often times slow them killing me) or they lose everything. Alternatively you can play it when they already have 4 or more creatures, then its a 2 mana wrath of god that takes 2 turns.

Really, a planar collapse should destroy everything, it would be like the destruction of an entire universe. That said, despite the wonky flavor related to the name, I love the flavor the card depicts: a sad, important turning point in the story of Urza's battle against Phyrexia.
