Classic bruiser. As with many of the old-school vanilla creatures, there are better things around now... but I still wouldn't want to see him across the table from me, lol.

While Shivan Dragon, Dragon Whelp, and Roc of Kher Ridges patrolled the skies of a Revised red deck, Earth Elemental and its P/T reversed twin Fire Elemental clogged the ground game, stopping Craw Wurms and Scathe Zombies dead in their tracks. At 5 mana, there are better options. Most Magic players prefer the extra point of power that Fire Elemental offers, but Earth Elemental is not without its fans.

Looks good in draft. There's better. Much better. Always has been (I'd rather Run Shivan). But a 4/5 is still nothing to scoff at. Imagine dropping him in an M10 draft.
