Cards like this turn the tide of the game in casual formats like Elder Dragon Highlander.

@Superllama12

Treachery is strictly better because it costs the same as Persuasion. If you were referring to Control Magic then you should state that, and you should compare Treachery to Control Magic on one of those card's discussion board.

As for this card, I don't think Control Magic was ever under costed, and while Control Magic isn't the best name I don't feel this is any better. Why can't blue control magic be represented as control magic, instead of just same Charismatic swaying? It doesn't feel very powerful to say I persuaded your Shivan wurm, or Bribed it, or it was treacherous and traded sides.

@Saxophonist:

Ho, no. Mind Control is exactly the same as this (just with a dumbed-down name according to Wizard's new policy that every new player is a drooling mongoloid), so it should be, in terms of utility, rated the same as this. You are right on this point.

Treachery, however, is a gem far and above either Mind Control or this card. Provided you have five lands, Treachery is free (read that, free creature control), and if any of the lands Treachery tells you to untap are double lands like Ravnica's, Treachery is actually mana acceleration. In Blue. Treachery is so many leagues above Mind Control and Persuasion it's not even funny. To say it's essentially the same as those two cards is an insult.

Great card. Wait, thats all I have to say? There must be a million good things that I can say about this card, probably enough to fill up this entire screen. But in doing so I would just be wasting other people's time by provideing useless information and praise instead of crediting the essentials of this card. In that case, I shall write a list of adjectives that accurately describe this card: astute, austere, entertaining, and practical.

Why is this rated lower than Mind Control and Treachery when they're all, in essence, the same card?

@Azazyel: LOL, drooling Mondoloids!
However, I would not say that Treachery is strictly better. You still have to get out five lands, but once you do, it is SO much better! I would say better, but not strictly, because of the difference in costs; the only cards that cost the same, like Lightning Bolt and Shock.

Persuasion = Decent
Mind Control = Lolwat? Why rename Persuasion?
Treachery = Who was asleep in R&D that day?
