I don't like any of this cycle, but this one's the worst. Red creatures aren't typically blocking. Oh well, it's a 3/3 for 4 at common, so it's not completely terrible.

This whole cycle would have been much more playable overall if it had straight up protection.

If it actually had PROTECTION from red so that he couldn't be one-offed with a lightning bolt , this guy would be worth the 4 he costs, but without that, he should have either been a 4/3,3/4, or 4/4.

Red Elemental Blast?
That's a thematically important card that doesn't go into a very narrow and specific deck?
Pointless, annoying, narrow, and generally unpleasant cards have been printed literally in every set ever released. Don't pretend this is a new development.
That said, Magic was good, and remains good to this day. Go play something else. OR, go play with the piles of ancient cards you adore so much.

I don't really like what magic is doing these days. I hope they make a whole new game called Magic the Gathering Classic or some thing and only add classic cards that make sense. I mean too many cards are suddenly useless and too many cards are broke. Plus they're giving abilities like protection from ect., likelink or deathtouch without any real use for theme. This card is a great example. Why does it have can't be blocked by red creatures? is it like some anti red deck?

considering red is the enemy color to both blue and white, AND that fact that these little guys are clearly adept at mountain climbing, it makes complete sense as to why they cannot be blocked by red creatures. Whether or not you like it, use it in constructed, or whatever thats up to you. This is great for limited, and thats about it. But magic has always had limited-only cards. There are many ways to play....
