The Nobilis is underrated, in my opinion. His ability, while nothing particularly new or interesting, should not be scoffed at, and neither should a 5/4 flyer. His ability to strongly complement White Weenie strategies should not be dismissed (turning your Serra Avengers into 5/3 flyers and your Knight of Meadowgrains into 4/2 first-striking lifelinkers is always nice) and he'll almost always affect the board for at least one turn, something that only two other Demigods, Oversoul of Dusk and Demigod of Revenge himself, can realistically claim.

I actually think in Mono White Weenie, the Nobilis is superior to Balefire Liege
Very underrated on my opinion.

I run him in a very aggressive MWW Flyers deck and if i can manage to get some cheap flyers on the field before he hits the field (not very hard with squadron hawk and such) Its pretty much Game Over

Also my Skyhunter Skirmisher now hits for 6 :)

Compared to the other gods of Eventid and Shadowmoor, this one is easy to get overlooked at. Almost too easy, because the other demigods are sort "flashy". They're big and they have wicked abilities.
This one might not seem much on his own, but that's the thing with him, he helps your other creatures rather than just think about himself.
If you put this down on turn 5, you attack with the critters that you already have in play, giving your opponent a headache and even more so because he knows that it's gonna happen again next turn, this time with the Nobilis himself attacking.
Do not underestimate this in favor of his peers.

Now for his deck placement. White and Red are very known for their weenies, and this proves to be a great candidate for the finisher slot. It's actually pretty legit since one of the biggest problems of weenies are their creatures being rendered useless late-game. Nobilis fixes that and isn't a pushover himself.
But I think that he'd fit more in a b... (see all)

The Nobilis of War is very good with Light From Within, and if you are already playing the Nobilis in a white weanie deck, then there is no reason not to have him. He may also complement Outrage Shaman well, if anyone uses him. I do agree with Zam, though, in that I would take a Balefire over the Nobilis any day.

Well, Kenji, that thing with Light From Within is true for every other demigod as well. (at least concerning the other white hybrids, regarding your mono-colored white weenie)
Again, red hybrid demigods are also just as useful with Outrage Shaman.

I'm also slightly disappointed from this one.
Of course it's still not a bad creature, but it could have been a bit stronger. What kept them from making this guy 4/4, giving the bonus to non-attacking creatures or at least make it 3/5?
Of course it boosts your other creatures as well, but Demigod of Revenge in comparison can hit one turn earlier and will be even more devasting if you've got some of these in your graveyard.

Among the weakest of the Shadowmoor block's "demigod" cycle. While its ability is relevant to the variety of weenies and tokens of its component colors and it's also a 5 c.m.c. flyer that attacks for 5, that same c.m.c. is a significant drawback to a color-combination focused on quick, cheap threats, with little mana-acceleration. The Balefire Liege is strictly better, though this represents an acceptable budget alternative.

Hmm, another puzzle for potential Johnies...I'd say that playing multiple copies in tandem with with attack boost cards and hordes of weenies is the only real way to go for this guy. I mean, with 2 on the field, both attacking makes each a 7/4. And that's NOT looking at what they may do to your other creatures.

this was made for rise of the hobgoblins, a bunch of first striking 3/1s is nothing to scoff at, and what if theres a liege on the field? 5/3 first strike. thats brutal.
with all the first and double strike in RW this guy is nothing to scoff at, especially since you'r probably playing weeny.
and in that case pumping your army is more useful than a big flashy Demigod of Revenge.
you attack me with you'r 5/3, well I attack you with 7 of em.

though I do have to admit Glory of Warfare is strictly better. but hey, it's got a decent body and with flying. perhaps not all you want for 5 manna but there's not much else for a 5 slot and 5 isn't too high. I mean what else are you gonna use brightflame?
