Why would an elf from Llanowar be in a field? Llanowar is a forest.

In my humble opinion ol' Llanowar Elves are the best green mana producer in the game. I would say Birds too, but they are rare and not all of us can get our hands on them. For multicolor yes, but in general I have to say this guy.

Thaviel means Fyndhorn Elves (without the u).
Llanowar elves are a classic. Nothing is quite the same as turn one Llanowar Elves- an iconic opening and a statement of intent. And mana accel, let's not forget that.
With regards to Thaviel, I sometimes run a playset of both in my Earthcraft decks to ensure the combo goes off turn 2.
