So many possibilities...do I load my deck with Ball Lightnings? Blue cards with various annoying "comes into play" effects? Black deathtouchers? How about all three?

In addition, I get a 5/5 zombie badass that has an axe with teeth in it and horns that look like Arnold Schwarzenegger's flexed biceps.

This is why we play Magic, gentlemen.

This guy is somewhat exactly what a non-alara block UBR deck needs; think in the possibilities beside evoking: re animator for {2}{B} ANY creature, and if you have a stifle with you u can call the unearthed creature a resurrected one.
The mana cost is a little high but worth it; and yeah, you technically have a 5/5 with no abilities, but hell, you have a graveyard with blood thirst.

This card is pretty amazing, both discard and aggro red can really benefit from the unearth, and his mana cost isn't so extreme as to be unplayable. He can't be instant lightning bolt or doom bladed, though he's far from having protection from removal. Still an awesome choice for a blue/black/red deck.

Teferi's Veil stops the end of turn sacrifice and makes it easier for you to get around both spot and mass removal. Only issue is the creatures need to attack and not die, but if they do then you get to keep them indefinitely.

So, possibly dumb question I need to have cleared up: How does the second condition for exiling "if it would leave play" work with Master Transmuter? I thought it would just exile the card, but if it doesn't then...well it be pretty sweet possiblity for a Sedris deck to have.

In rereading the rules, I believe it would just exile it (the card), but if anyone knows different, be sure to correct me.

For anyone who says the flavor on this guy is off, read the story about him from Daily MTG, it's fantastic. I'd link it, but I read it a year ago, so if you're interested in why this guy is one of the coolest cards ever made in Magic (aside from the jaw-dropping art), go find it yourself.

This guy doesn't require a deck to be built around him. If you do build a deck around him, of course he becomes much better, but any deck with creatures is going to see them die, and he can bring them back in the late game when your board presence is hurting.

Why is this card fantastic? I don't like this 3-color combination, but it makes me want to play it. Sure, it could have fear, which would make it that much better, but if it can headline its three colors, it's still a fantastic card.

Take all the unnecessarily huge cyclers from the block (I'm looking at you Ridge Rannet), cycle them for card advantage and then unearth them.

OR

Merfolk Looter, any combination of fun ETB creatures.

I have a commander deck with Sedris. The ability to give any creature unearth is pretty crazy, and seems to synergize extremely well with creatures that have great come into play effects. For example: Conquering Manticore, Flametongue Kavu, Reiver Demon, Rune-Scarred Demon, Gilded Drake, Phyrexian Ingester, and Duplicant. You get the idea. Unearth can only be done at sorcery speed unfortunately, but allows for some interesting tricks.

5/5 from me for sheer evil utility and being a zombie king.

this card goes AMAZINGLY well in an Evoke deck. using elementals from lorwyn and morning tide, with come into play and leave play abilities.
right now im trying to make an EDH deck with this guy as my general, and there are a ton of elemental cards in their like shreikmaw, spitbellows, and mournwelk. but i think everyone will target me cause of how anoying the deck is :)
