I played one game where I had played a few Mycoloths and I was producing a few hundred tokens per turn. The problem was that my opponent had three Soul Wardens out... I couldn't deal damage fast enough to kill him. It sucked, and I eventually decked myself.

Really, really good. In multi-player games, this card is insane. One of the best one-drops around for white.

4.5/5

Soul's Attendant from Rise of the Eldrazi is almost exactly the same, except the life gain is optional.

I really want to see her back for M13, the synergy she would have with most white Innistrad decks is simply phenomenal. Heck, even a "Whenever a player casts a human, you gain 1 life" functional re-print of her in Avacyn Restored we be good.

Forever a solid creature all the same.

5/5.

if it gets hit by removal, you get the advantage because it saves a better creature. if it gets hit by damage removal, like lightning bolt, you just bought yourself another turn or so, and they wasted a card. However, if they don't use removal, it is liable to gain you 4 to 8 life during a normal game, which is great. It is also a chump blocker if needed, and can swing in for damage. The only way the opponent can get rid of this and not lose tempo is with mass removal, the cheapest of which being volcanic fallout, turn 3. which means turns 2 and 3, it probably got you some life, so it wasn't for nothing. Absolutely great creature, not sure why it is below 4 stars. 4.5 here.

A deceptively powerful 1 drop. No one wants to waste a removal on it so it basically becomes W for a 1/1 and gain 5 life. If you have multiples of these in a multiplayer it can just get ridiculous...

I run a deck with three Soul Wardens.

I was going against a friend of mine once, and had been lucky enough to find all three pretty quickly in the game. Good for me, because my opponent runs an Elf token deck. It has about 24-28 Elf creatures in it, 2 that grant elf tokens for each elf played, and 2 more that grant an elf token when you tap mana... plus Elvish Ambush commander and Elven Promenade.

They tried their huge elf token rush, and I weathered most of the blows, blocking the bigger hitters with little choice, (such as Elven Allosaurus Rider) and then used Wrath of God to clear the table on my turn.

After that, I just used Cenn's Enlistment to give me an army of 1/1 creatures and won.
