This was actually one of the best cards in my draft deck tonight. I was black heavy, and grabbed these due to a few contaminated grounds that i had grabbed earlier. It won me two games by getting skeletal wurm in for the kill, and at other times i just empty-casted it for the cantrip.
Give it a try in limited, you really won't be disappointed at all. I can't see it being nearly as useful in constructed though.

As Raz said, this + contaminated ground is not bad at all. I used it on the release draft to get in a few times with a couple of fatties for the win.

@Gezus82 - We can, but shouldn't compare this to Distortion Strike, as it isn't the same kind of card. The black equivalent to DS is Virulent Swipe, which is very comprable.
This card is obviously very limited in scope, although it would make a nice side-board card against black. It gives you a free hit, plus the card draw for only 1CC... I'll take it.
2.5/5 for sideboard.

Ob Nixilis, the Fallen + Korlash, Heir to Blackblade deck. You should be running Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, so after hitting the combo, attack with a large, unblockable Ob Nix and get a cantrip. I'm actually working on this deck right now =D

I'm with Laguz and Razmataz on this one. Not all cards were created for constructed play, guys. Just because it doesn't fit your Jund or DredgeVine or Con***ion or Un-set decks doesn't mean it's a bad card. It's just for a different playing environment.

Use this in Mono-Black Infect on a Livewire Lash equipped for a nice 2 poison ping to the dome and a free card draw.Swampwalk? who cares.. but bonus against black..
