That's some awfully evil flavor text to be coming from an Ondu Cleric. Dang.

White has had removal since the beginning. The key is that unlike black 'bury' removal or red burn, white removal was always conditional. Swords to Plowshares has been around since the beginning and set the standard for white to have the most powerful and 'final' removal (exile), but at a price. Since then, white removal has either focused on attacking (sometimes blocking) creatures (which is totally in flavor), or given your opponent an advantage in return (which is also in flavor). As far as I know, there has never been a white card that simply lets you destroy a creature (except maybe Unmake). Where I agree is that perhaps there have been a bit too many conditional white removals recently, considering that this, Oust, Divine Verdict, Path to Exile, Oblivion Ring, Journey to Nowhere, and a couple of others are all currently in standard. That will probably change once Alara rotates out.

This card can kill Vampire Nighthawks, why are some people complaining?

Cheza...you and Majinara make me so sad sometimes. For example, White is the color of order, military, fairness, justice, etc. This card is all of those things, except perhaps order, if it's destroying a blocker. It's militirastically killing something that threatens its people. The cleric wants to bring justice upon the vampire, and thinks it's fair that it feels all the pain it caused. Honestly, I don't understand why removal is Black.

I love the flavor - if I were a mage in real life, this would be in my spellbook - but why print this and smite in the same set? Not a very good card at all, not even in limited.

Why is white becoming number 1 in killing/removoving creatures in MTG ? isn't white supposed to PROTECT or HEAL creatures ? That doesn't feel right.
