@Snaterman: No, the -1/-1 counter will stay on the Idol because counters remain on permanents as long as they're on the battlefield even if they have a useless effect on a certain card (ex. putting a flood counter on a creature).

pecked me to PIECES at the prerelease. The guy had 2 or 3 in his deck, and he got them online before I could do anything about it. The only time my Skinrenders failed me!

In pre-release, I was able to activate it more times with artifacts then with the {w} trigger.
I like the card a lot, especially when my hand is Glint Hawk, Glint Hawk Idol x 2, plains, plains, Forest, Memnite.

@ endlessor using its W more than once just have one use: let's say you attack with it and someone cast diminish on it. then you can pay W in order to make it 2/2 flyer again
