Can be very destructive among your opponent's creatures, but sadly does not affect your oppenent as well.

@Grimn777 not to mention for 1 extra mana it becomes instant, where as pyroclasm is sorcery

I don't think Volcanic Fallout is always the better card. I think it usually is, but it really depends on why you're including it in your deck. Right now, Devastating Summons Red is rearing it's ugly head. I'd rather have a pyroclasm in my sideboard to deal with those turn 2 and 3 swarms of red critters than a Volcanic Fallout, simply because it's easier/cheaper to cast, and because I don't really want to do 2 damage to myself against a deck that is going all in to kill me by turn 4 or so.

I like it versus Fallout because it's a lot less color restrictive, which is fairly important in multicolor decks that include red. I'm hoping to add some in a casual 5-color 'Defender/Door to Nothingness' deck I'm putting together, since it wouldn't wipe away my high-toughness creatures while hopefully getting rid of theirs. Since it's 5 colored, this is preferable since I won't have to be digging around for a second red mana.

Thank goodness I don't play tokens. This spells disaster for those dudes.

Try to put both Pyroclasm and Volcanic Fallout together in a red deck... both are very useful... and both are really destructive...

wow... MasterOfEtherium you couldn't be more wrong. obviosly you have never had one of these countered because you have been rushing and playing them on turn 2! Seriously, how many creatures can a person possibly have on turn 2? if you went first, most likely none, rarely a single creature. If you went second, theres a good chance they have none, maybe 1, could have 2. Why waste a pyroclasm on that? If you are playing elves, doesn't it make more sense to wipe hordes of elf tokens mid game? and if you play this spell when it is appropriate, it very well might get countered, which is where volcanic fallout is king. Also, if you are playing red, the goal is to do damage fast, which volcanic fallout also aids in.

You guys are morons, Master is right. You don't want to sit on your bum and watch a player untap with Rofellos and Priest of Titania in play.
Volcanic Fallout is good, but its a different job entirely. In extended especially, its job is to kill fae. Which it does quite well, I might add.
