I kinda wish it didn't have to tap to do that. But again, old card = old mechanics = new territory = not wanting to break the game too quickly.

It's a 1/1 flier in green with a bad ability for 2.

Could be worse.

If looking for a {G} --> {R} mana converting creature with the same casting cost, go with Skyshroud Elf instead. It can do unlimited conversions, convert to {W} as well, and even tap for a {G} -- great for Naya ramp.
