Has to be my favorite version of a very good card: the art and the flavor text from Volrath really do it well. As far as the card itself, it's undeniable that Mana Leak is good, so we can really just move on to the next one.

One of the best soft counters ever printed. This was a great alternative to Counterspell in decks that had a varied manabase, and also effective in the early game to buy some time. This, along with Power Sink, kept players from tapping out to cast big spells or creatures, and expecting it, many people hesitated before casting spells while their opponent had two islands untapped. THis is without a doubt a great spell in a blue mage's arsenal, and made even more enticing as a potential core set reprint now that Cancel has replaced Counterspell.
