This card won me four games in the prerelease by closing gap between early unanswered damage and that last burn spell.

This is a mean fire-and-forget for red - it's going to seem so benign compared to the other things happening in this block.

This harkens all the way back to alpha. Compare it to copper tablet. this gives burn the inevitability they need against control decks.

Think... three turns later, you've done a Bolt's worth of damage. Not sure if this makes it good, but interesting at the very least.

Not too bad in limited, if you get it out turn 2. Puts your opponent on a clock. At least in the pre-release, no one ever managed to get rid of it - not that it ever managed to kill anyone either.

Multiple instances can become yucky quickly, though.

This does technically activate bloodthirst, you just need a way to get your bloodthirsty creatures into play on your opponents turn. I like to use Scepter of Empires with Quicksilver Amulet to get a 9/9 trampling Carnage Wurm for 4 colorless mana. Also use with Lord of Lineage and Bloodlord of Vaasgoth to pump out a 7/7 flyer on their turn!

EDIT: Bloodlord only works when casting Vamps, so you can't make a 7/7 with Lord of Lineage. Whoops!

Words fail to describe how much I despise this card. A third of the games at the launch draft at my school involved this bloody curse. Three of those games included a Stromkirk Noble. Needless to say, those games ended swiftly.
