And yet if human make human-shaped weapons out of human parts, suddenly it's "weird." What is this double standard?

Look closely, guys. If you wondered that the shaft looked strange, wonder no more.

That's the frigging TRUNK he's holding. Hence the gnarliness.

Art has way to much focus on "this hammer looks like an elephant" and not enough on "this hammer will destroy your enemies".

@bijart_dauth: Doesn't bother me. Rating is subjective. I suspect that some people rated down Skullclamp for the same reason some people rated down Baneslayer Angel- both cards are offensively overpowered. Hell, Skullclamp is banned in basically everything except Commander and Vintage. I would rate it down just for that. The Warhammer, though, is just right. Best-in-class power at just the right casting cost.

@EpitomeOfEvilness: The hammer is in the knight deck.

Loxodon Warhammer is very solid. I've been using it ever since I pulled it in a Mirrodin booster way back, and even today it rarely disappoints. As for the art, I would have liked to see a picture of a charging knight wielding the hammer and perhaps striking a foe or charging a dragon instead of a picture of a hammer smashing what looks like a stone wall. I like the colors though - purple-blue-ish go well with gold.

The new art looks confused to me. Also, the warhammer itself looks less threatening when it's a short stubby stick as opposed to a long polearm. I do like the colors - the slight blue-gold tint.

Hard to argue with the card itself, though. Solid no matter how it's sliced.

I don't know about this new art. Doesn't have the same impact when it isn't being swung over the head of a clearly ***ed-off elephant man.

How come they errated this "Whenever this creature deals damage you gain that much life" to lifelink, but they haven't errated any other "old lifelink" cards to lifelink?
