This one of my first few cards (I bought a 10th Edition Starter Pack Summer of 2008 and the Alara Reborn Deck Summer of 2009.) This a major thorn in the side for your opponents. Makes people hate 
control even more.

this card isn't as good as it first appears. at most, it'll only be holding back one creature. the advantage this has over removal is that this can block the even bigger creatures your opponents play, but that's what prison term is for.

Always kind of bothered me that this had Flying instead of Reach. Just feels weird to look at.

Yeah, this would be much more flavorful if it had Reach. On the otherhand, it might be a bit overpowered. As it is, spells that blanket flyers will smack this around the shroud.

It has flying because it's a floating wall. Look at the art. It's not tall, it's floating.

Why does no one else like this card? I'm a big fan of W/B so maybe thats why i love it so much. but seriously, a 3 drop 0/8 flying defender with shroud? massive power. I use this in lots of situations when I need a few turns to bust out some bigger drops.
