According to the flavor text, its not really complete until you hit something with it by using bludgeon brawl.

The Signets were always/have always been/will always be great, but they are especially relevant now as Color Fixers in Commander decks that want to play 20-30 gold cards, or Commander decks who ABSOLUTELY have to cast their 2-or-3 colored Commander by turn 5 at the latest.

If number of mana is your problem, Sol Ring is great at breaking....most things.

But in situations where getting the right colors fast is important: the Signets are, actually, better than Sol Ring.

Not STRICTLY better. But if I was playing Kaalia of the Vast, I would take any Signet over Sol Ring in the opening 7. That's quite a testament to their power and utility, and whichever one you think is most useless (G/B maybe? Those colors are combo-riffic, so good aggro cards look 'bad', and Green has much faster mana ramp) anyway whichever Signet you think is the WORST gets 3.5 stars for being competitive with Sol Ring, and Dimir Signet is no less than 4.5 stars at a minimum. U/B has a lot of mana... (see all)
