Hello eureka moment as to why this cycle is in M13, rather than the shocklands. It has to do with the Isolated Chapel cycle in Innistrad. It wouldn't make sense to include both these five AND the shocklands in the same set--one or the other, not both. So, this half-cycle stays in the main set, and RTR block will progressively yield the returned shocklands. End result: By the time the third RTR set comes out, both the full Glacial Fortress and Hallowed Fountain sets will be available. Otherwise would have put opposed-color decks in Standard slightly ahead of allied-color decks in the mana-fixing department.

These lands are ok for standar. Like the default in power-level on dual lands.
Also, cheap duals on standard enviroment help newcomers get into the game.

4/5

I'm new to the game and have very quickly become addicted. lol I have a question about this card though. Is this card a land multiplier? Meaning, if I were to lay this down on my first turn and then come my second turn play a second basic land (let's just say a plains mana). Could I then tap this card to produce another mana? Therefore, giving me two mana in addition to this card on my second turn? (Sorry for any typos, I'm using my iPhone and it's autocorrecting, left and right!)

@dash85:
This land can only produce one mana per turn unless any other card states otherwise. When it comes into play, it checks for a a land with the subtype Forest or Plains in your side of the field. If there are any, it will come into play untapped, if not, tapped. Then, you can tap it to produce either one white mana (lake a Plains would) or one green mana (like a Forest would).
For the card itself, great cycle of duals, unless you're playing with a really low curve, not very risky to run as a playset. Just remember not to put many more nonbasics in the same manabase, or you'll end up with a strictly worse (and strictly more expensive) Graypelt Refuge

@dash85 : no. this land works just like another other basic land, just that, if you don't control a basic land when you play it, it'll be tapped instead of untapped as it's starting state. you're looking for something more like Selesnya Sanctuary
