Lots of card advantage, but extremely slow. If you want that kind of card advantage, just play a Phyrexian Gargantua instead.

This card rocks (for a common). I use it in my pauper zombie EDH deck because it is massive card advantage. A couple cards like this, and my opponent just gets swamped by my zombies.
The deck features 'when this creature dies' zombies (black cat being one of the best for this) and chump blocks without worry. Using removal spells, discard spells, chump blockers that gain me advantage, and cards like this, I slowly build up the board with a wall of zombies and my opponent slowly loses their hand and all their creatures die off 1-by-1. I then finish them off with my commander (soulless one).

It won't always be better than this, though it does try to establish a board presence.

Great topdeck, terrible opening hand. Run 2ish? (especially since the 3 card advantage is contingent upon you having 2 in the grave.)
