I agree with you. What's the porpouse to have characters like planeswalker when they don't do anything? What's the porpouse of having a villain like Nicol Bolas, when he lurks and cospirate but nothing happens? Beside the death of Mirron by Phyrexia (great story, by the way! And I like Phyrexia...), the only actual action we've seen are the fight between Liliana and Garruk in Avacyn Restored, in Triumph of Ferocity and Triumph of Cruelty, but nothing more...
The storyboard done with the cards in Tempest was nice, but I understand why Wizards doesn't want to redo it, but nowaday we see no action between characters, and only a little about the interaction between planes, like during Kamigawa and Ravnica... I want more of these!

The art looks weird, and doesn't seem to match the flavor text. The flavor text suggests Kamigawa, but the art suggests...Mirrodin?

The new art actually looks like it's from a Space Colony, not Kamigawa....and yet I can see Kamigawa, kinda, in the Nezumi architecture. I LIKE this. It feels like it's from OLD School MAGIC, which felt twice as Sci-Fi and Philosophical as today's MAGIC story.
I like MAGIC flavor, I LOVE Agents of Artifice, but even the very height of cool flavor Post-Mending holds nothing to the blaze of flavor that once was THE MULTIVERSE, in the time of Urza Planeswalker. Urza was the Obi-Wan Kenobi that held it all together and made it WORK. Magic used to be like....like Star Trek crossed with Star Wars crossed with Pastoral Symphony from Fantasia. Da da da DA dadada duh duh Duh DUH dadada....Stormfront Pegasus anyone? :P Lightning Bolt? :P
Ah, forget about it.
There are too many stories now. Too many Planeswalkers, but no Central Hero. If it's Jace, actually show some things happening to him. Actually get him to bring a New Coalition together against... (see all)
