I happened to be looking at the entire Planar Chaos spoiler the other day in order of highest rated to lowest. This is the fifth worst rated card in the whole set... thanks for the reprint!!!

while he is pretty weak, Keep in mind, he can get rid of creatures with deathtouch by reducing their power to 0, meaning no damage.
Hes definitely surperior than the steed, and can definitely save your hide. Sure, if it was like -2/-1, He would be a lot stronger, but -2/-0 on its own is pretty solid.
Still, You can do better. 2.5/5.
