Really wish this had been reds answer to looter il-kor... I mean its not like it would have been broken as a 2 drop. I know reds not supposed to have the card draw blue has avaliable to it but still, it already is worse at 2 a). worse evasion and b). discard then draw is a lot worse than draw then discard. However, I do like that it is a may, so you can keep attacking even if you want to keep your last card or two. So overall I'll still happily play it as a one of in limited.

And for all the haters, rumaging goblin was one of reds most solid commons in m13, and this guy has the potential to be better (just side him out against opposing red players... or side him in against non-red players if you want to be super cautious)

A red dude with intimidate who allows me to throw away my mountains and/or madness cards in return for more bolts?

Yeah, why not?

Not the best he could be, but sets a nice precedent—I expect to see more guys like like him, hopefully better priced, in the future.

If there were decent, power-boosting Equipment at common/uncommon rarities in M14, this might be circumstantially playable in Limited. There isn't, and it isn't.

It's bad, guys.

So I played two prereleases and this guy actually worked in my main pool. I went 4-0 and it was partially because this gave R/G agro solid card draw. He is too small for an opponent to want to use removal on it but threatening enough to work toward your favor. If your deck is agro with no card draw source, he's pretty useful if not at least sideboardable 2.5/5

I would have loved for this to be a 2/1, but I still love this combination of effects. I think its a Rummaging Goblin done right

Don't give this guy such a hard time. I played him at Pre-release, and I was almost always happy to see him. He helped me cycle through my deck for the answers I needed, and steadily chipped away at the opponent's life total all the while.

What I'm saying is that you're looking at him the wrong way. He's more like an enchantment that asks if you want to ditch some dead weight from your hand every turn, and pings the opponent each time you do. Then he can block a creature when he needs to.

Completely worth the cost, and he'll always be a 3rd or 4th pick for me.

3.5/5

have you tried it? is not that bad. it has evasion and card filter. i have been playing it and surprisingly my opponents kill him before other threats.

I like that red's creatures are getting useful abilities, but I'm not sure a 1/1 for three is what I would call "competitive." Compare Looter il-Kor for a similar effect, with superior evasion, and only two rather than three mana. Hopefully Wizards decides to push intimidate further as red's back-up form of evasion besides the "can't be blocked except by two or more creatures" effect that's been showing up more and more often.

I'm surprised at the early low rating. This isn't that bad for Limited, it's just a bit overcosted. Still has its uses, though.
