Let me start by saying that this printing is just beautiful. The art is more detailed, truly showing how unearthly she looked against the backdrop of the soldiers she killed (Especially in foil. Akroma truly shines.) The flavortext is also spot on; Ixidor created her to avenge the death of his wife, Nivea. For Nivea's death, so many will die in vengeance. Not to say anything negative for the original flavortext, this is just a different look at Akroma's purpose, one that ties in Nivea as well as Ixidor.
I don't doubt at all the power level of this card. Its time tested good, simply put. Boardwipes are always good, as you only play them when it would be advantageous. Fair's fair when I'm taking half your money so we have the same amount, yeah? Plus, a boardwipe of this caliber is worth six mana, that means you're paying nothing for the option to cycle it. A free benefit is always good!

The cycling seems a little superfluous, like on Slagstorm, but hey. It's there, and it adds another mode to an already-great spell.

I think that readers didn't understand DarthParallax's rating system (I'm actually a little fuzzy on it myself).
I devised my own rating system, based on what Darth's system *appears to be. It seems we're looking at the card's impact on the deck/strategy it was used in. I suppose there is a slight modifier thrown in that considers the card's strength in Magic today.
Now with that having been established, I don't see how Akroma's Vengeance doesn't fall above Char and Ink-Eyes. Ok, so Char may have a little on Vengeance as far as the-wrath-effect in the deck compared to the-best-burn-spell in the deck. However, I think that Vengeance is more esteemed of a wrath spell than Char is of a burn spell (3 mana is just too d!%m much).
I love ninjas- they're original cause that has led to me typing here. However, when thinking of notorious attacking/winning five mana creatures, Ink-Eyes never comes to mind. A... (see all)

ALL things considered, probably the worst card in the set.
Cards that appear worse (like Wall of Blossoms or Fyndhorn Elves) are simply 'meant for different decks'.
Quite comparable to Nevinyrral's Disk! :D
SO WOW, the power level of this Vault is pretty STUPID if this card is 'arguably the worst'. (As Vaults go, very inefficient to cast (Balance, Disk), though of course Cycling is very Valuable.) It's a more than fair card, and Vaults are just usually known for unfair cards. :)
This is a GOOD card. It just has...some amazing friends next to it in the box. o.O
EDIT: I seem to have been massively downvoted. I guess I expected a 2.5-3.5 star rate for this comment. Let me clarify: IT IS A GREAT CARD. This needed new art, and I like this flavour text better than the original as well. Too bad the expansion symbol looks like an ugly coin... oh well.
I really want to see a lot of these in foil, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. (as in, I won't buy it and I don't think I know anyone who will either)
