A great example of GreenBlue flexibility. A surprise kill spell or an evasive attacker, take your pick!

Compare to its fellow snake Ambush Viper: for 1Green you lose flying and gain 1 extra power.

So at what point do you suppose it would be acceptable to just plain print a card that costs 1UG and says 'Destroy target creature'? Oddly enough, this ability can't be achieved in blue or green, but when they come together they manage to do just that. Still, it's not good for killing mana elves and other such utility creatures so there's that. Also, who'd play a card that costs 1UG just to kill a creature? It's probably this creature's own utility that makes it better than a mere Murder.
