Yeah, I like tokens. But there are far better token makers in Green and/or Red than this card. A net of 8/8 power and toughness for 7 mana? Yeah, it's pretty good in that regard, but that's pretty slow compared to other token makers.

Now the key word in here is Haste. This changes the picture. This helps a bunch. You can attack with these guys as soon as you play them, so they can get past your opponent if they attacked all out. That's 8 damage there.

In relation to the other cards in the set, it can be great in a draft or something. If you add White, you can add Dictate of Heliod for 16 damage, or keep it just Red with Rouse the Mob. Buffing unexpected attackers can be a great thing.

If you're going to give your dead god a good funeral you might as well do it the way he would do.

Feral Lightning was 9 for 6 while this is 8 for 7, but these tokens stick around.

It's kinda weird that this set makes both 2/2 and 2/3 tokens with haste.

Fear not loyal worshipers, all is not lost. Though the Xenogos we know has fallen, he may yet be reborn! The fourteen before him were born of mortals thought, desires, and prayers. Let us revel in his worship more than ever before; that by our conviction, he may rise again!

This + Doubling Season (or Parallel Lives) + Purphoros, God of the Forge. I like it.

I was kind of hoping for something better as the Red/Green card this set, but then again, White/Blue and Black/Red got nothing, so I guess there's that. Still, I'd be a bit disappointed to pull this as my rare.

That said, I agree with Guruthes here. Xenagod made the plane of Theros infinitely better, with exponentially higher levels of general badassery throughout His time. The passing of His Crunkness fills me with an immensely powerful hate towards the damnable Heliod and his accursed Champion. On behalf of the great Xenagod, his loyal worshippers, and even the primordial forces of Red and Green mana themselves, I will ensure that my revengeance against these two White-aligned bastards will be divine.

Man, GR has it rough in Theros, huh. They finally get a new God and after Kruphix knows how long (he probably does) he goes and dies on 'em.

I see this in a deck alongside Blast of Genius & Riddle of Lightning and maybe Eidolon of the Great Revel in the SB.
