Gives 2 power, unlike the rest of the cycle which gives just 1. That alone makes it a pretty good trick.

Looking at the whole Theros Block, this is great for triggering Heroic on the Akroan Red guys. Trample and +2/+0 is great for Red, and it's an instant, so it can be used in combat. Don't really see myself using the Strive ability too much, 3 mana for each new source seems a bit costly. But it's good that Strive is there, in case you need something to spend mana on at the end of the game. This card works as and early combat trick or a game ender. I like it.

I really like the red trample cards that have been appearing in theros. I think it's a really nice ability for them to have.
