Now this is how you do 'weird land with storage counters'. Strategically useful, but still not an outright 'better than basic'. Also interesting for being the only land I've seen so far that makes coming into play tapped a good thing.

This card has a warm spot in my heart because of all the times I used it back in the day. However, this whole cycle of cards have been obsolete since Mercadian Masques. See Rushwood Grove. Unlike the WBR variants,it's especially obsolete in green due to all the druids that allow you to untap lands - in turn giving you more counters on your storage land each turn.

The only benefit that these lands have over their Mercadian Masques versions is that these will still get counters with Stasis-like effects - like Winter Orb.

Quite good for slower decks with the removal of mana burn, seeing as if you don't think you'll need X mana this turn, just leave it tapped and when you have a big spell in hand, float the remainder of your mana.

Helps if you have a way of untapping lands outside of the untap step. Doubling Season is a big help, too.

That's true, it's good for not wasting mana you don't need.

The problem with lands like this and their potential combinations with Doubling Season / Gilder Bairn or Proliferate is that you still have to spend mana to get mana. Usually, getting a net gain isn't worth it unless you have an Variable Colorless cost worth paying.

But if you're patient, I suppose it wouldn't be bad.
