People played it in UW control back in the day, probably because of Rewind. Nowadays we have Jace's Ingenuity, which I believe is better than this card as the card advantage is doubled (+2 as opposed to +1).

Sorry, inspiration. Council of the....I mean, Divination seems to have sniped you for the core spots. Back to the box with you. Yes, I know you're an instant, and a player can leave mana open to counter, then play you at the end when nothing worthy is played. Yes, yes, I know you're targeted for mill or team play. But people don't play draw go or mill anymore. You're only good in team play, and apparently that's too complex for the poor, simple core set players. After all, they had to have the names sorted out to avoid confusing the poor dears.
