A good place to convert mana from your Cloudpost and Vesuva powered deck.

Use with Braid of fire to let you keep your excess mana.

The back of that gemstone must look pretty empty, all 5 colors are in front... Jokes aside, absolutely amazing. Bought this for my EDH and killed multiple people with an unexpected Comet Storm. This thing lets you throw mana from anywhere into a generator that people don't even blink at until it's too late.

C-C-C-C-Coretapper!

And of course, Energy Chamber.

used in all my artifact decks,
store up mana/chargecounters, then dismantle.

Another example of a situation in which the simple application of one or several Energy Chambers makes an apparently simple and harmless artifact terribly, horribly broken.

It's awesome. Drop any excess mana you have, and get flexible mana at your disposal. It may not be great in tournament or where decks are made to use every shred of mana, but in my casual games, I usually have some I can store. 5/5

Second turn play Channel, then this array of awesome, abuse as desired, possibly through Exsanguinate to extend mana.

Something tells me that, in the books-verse anyway not the cards-verse, this should technically be considered more powerful than Black Lotus. Black Lotus would be more valuable on the Bazaar market sure, but not necessarily a winning proposition as a weapon.

This makes mana continuously and doesn't sacrifice. Sure, in card game strategy, the 0-cost card works better to kill faster, but I imagine that Bolas' Secret Lair probably has one of these tucked away with a Sol Ring keeping it going, whereas Black Lotus would be sought more by the Indiana Jones' of the multiverse- as a great historical find, something that you keep in a glass case forever because it's precious--which is actually what I bet happens to most Black Lotuses anyway.

This machine on the other hand is actually within the grasp of most artificers to build, and definitely pays out what you put in.

Yep, this is more useful for winning, and Black Lotus is more useful for paying for college.
