Back in Fifth Dawn there was a mechanic called Sunburst.
There were also 5 "Bringers" that could each be played for WhiteBlueBlackRedGreen
But in general (I didn't say strictly) this is just a worse Llanowar Elves

Not so bad. It can be useful in multicolor decks if your opponent is using a land that produces a color you need, and there are times when you don't care what color it is as long as it's mana.

Not saying it's worth using all the time, but it can be decent on occasion.

Use Fellwar Stone or Exotic Orchard with Sen Triplets. Not this.

Or for that matter, one of the many other ramping/fixing artifacts.
