@ FelixtheWary - rule: 110.2. A permanent's owner is the same as the owner of the card that represents it (unless it's a token; see rule 110.5a). A permanent's controller is, by default, the player under whose control it entered the battlefield. Every permanent has a controller.

Thats why no one is using it in combo with Insurrection.

A very strong card that has almost no use in a normal game...

It's what I never thought I'd need... but now really want.

Yeah, this card pretty much sucks with the Magic 2010 rules change.
I'm sure there will be people playing soon that aren't familiar with the fact that tokens used to be "owned" by the person that owned the effect that created them and have no idea that this card here used to be the centerpiece of a lot of really fun multiplayer decks that people had.
But, alas, you can no longer follow a turn of casting Hunted Troll with a turn of casting Hunted Dragon (maybe even using a Forbidden Orchard or two to help you cast) and then smile ear-to-ear as you cast a Brand to claim all those tokens as your own.

So yeah, Brand is not even close to the card that it was pre-2010.

Just buy your opponents deck during the gameplay and then play this.

Lost one of its best uses due to the Magic 2010 rules change. Oh well.

It actually makes Sky Swallower worth it.

I use it in a cheap wall deck. Thieves' Auction and Cultural Exchange start the fun, then Brand, and finally a Day of the Dragons to put it away.
