Strictly worse than Boil. Just because you can grab it with one wish doesn't mean it's better. There are a ton of wishes out there, and if you're looking to combo, you don't mind splashing colors to get them.

You can fetch this from your sideboard with Burning Wish. That's a big plus in my book and makes this nowhere near strictly worse than Boil.

If you're facing cards like this, it's a really good idea to have a few nonbasic lands that can tap for colored mana. Or in other words, you can't take the sky from me.

Boil should very much never have existed. As an instant, it is nigh impossible to evade. This card is much less broken.

Boil was STUPID... o.O
This is still crazy....but I thnk, at {3}{R}{R}, the effect of Boil would be fair. At Rare. Or perhaps Mythic. I'm not sure. Land Destruction is a very necessary part of the game, but where exactly to put it?
Instant Speed Armageddon is a little bit frightening...but then, it is difficult to argue that it's not necessary. The only REAL question is: What is the fair price of Instant Speed Land Wrath?
The problem is: Any costing that might reasonable in Commander, Modern, or Legacy would be awful for Standard. They now have a problem in that they've pushed Standard so far into not liking LD, that they can't even print any of the fairer imaginable LD cards because they'd be a MESS in Standard. And yet, it's good for the health of all the other formats to access to some kinds of LD.
But the old Designs hover a lot between being not good enough, or too oppressively good and kinda stale. We need New LD cards.
