After reading this, I had a mental image of tackling someone the instant after they throw the card in the air. It appears to be legal. I suppose less violent forms of interference would work, too. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who runs this, so I won't be able to test it.

@bijart_dauth, I don't think that's true. This is an activated ability, which you can play any time. Look at Urza's contact lenses, you can clearly use the "Clap your hands twice" ability while it's tapped.
If it were a mono artifact that would involve tapping in the cost, but it's not.

@bijart_dauth: First of all artifact creatures abilities never stopped working when they were tapped.
Secondly the doesn't work tapped only applied to poly and continous artifacts, never to mono artifacts. When the separation was stopped and mono artifacts got the tap-symbol, the rule was mistakenly made that non-creature artifacts shut down when tapped. But then tapped Mana Vault won't ping you, said a rules lawyer. The rest you know: tapped artifacts work and some artifacts got errated to have words 'don't work when tapped', others didn't and some that did lost it later and no-one knows which alpha poly and continous artifacts work when tapped and which don't.

i just tested this with another card, and apart from nearly putting out an eye on a few occasions, i found this ability is pretty much impossible. maybe if you have really heavy sleeves to limit the amount of fluttering.

@a3kitsune. i don't know about artifact creatures. but i know that when this was printed all artifacts had a unprinded ability that said that there abilitys didnt work when they where taped. it's also the reason for urza's contact lenses clap to tap abilty.
