He's so beautiful...A 1/1 for one, and the number of cards in your hand decreases by one! Also, one is the number of times you have to play him before your opponent realizes he's playing with someone who uses the Starter Pack deck.

One of the rare cases where the 7th edition version of a card is the best. This art is so much better than the other one, and the flavor text is great.
Unfortunately, the card itself is terrible. But to be fair, it kind of needs to exist. I mean, creatures don't get simpler than this. It's important for there to be a creature this simple.

Definitely not a card a person who thinks they are halfway decent should play, although It has to be said that it has it's place, which is more than many cards can say. Good for people who do not have many cards, and can act as last minute filler in a soldier deck. There are many better cards to replace it, but it does ok by itself i guess.

GASP! 7th ed. art which is better than other editions' art? Preposterous!
Also, it's a human soldier- the former tribe is heavily supported in Innistrad block and the latter has been heavily supported for years. If you really need a vanilla 1 drop (say for Muraganda Petroglyphs), you can't get better vanilla than that.
