Tooth and Nail entwined or Defense of the heart, getting Primeval Titan and Avenger of Zendikar is ridiculous. You choose the order their etb abilities go on the stack.

I just want to make a deck to abuse him and a khalni garden with a ruin ghost.

This card is alot better than you might think. I mostly play casual multi-player games, and this guy is a bomb.
Even at the prerelease this weekend when I got him in sealed I could consistently get him out at least every other game.

Also it is really funny to see your opponent face-palm when you drop this guy.

At worst you get around seven chump blockers and a 5/5. At best you win. if you don't like this card, sell it.

Watch your opponent cry when you drop two of these and five lands with Warp World. 10 +1/+1 counters on 10 tokens? Uhh, YEAH.

Best part is, you can choose the order of resolution; have the plant tokens trigger first, then the landfall trigger.

The aforementioned Rite of Replication is better when you have the mana to be playing it, though. He's fun in the Warp World deck, though.

INCREDIBLY underrated. Yes, it costs a lot. In Landfall deck with tons of manaramping (as it should!), that really doesn't matter. Like, at all. I run a GW Landfall deck, tends to go like this:

Turn 1: Land, Amulet of Vigor
Turn 2: Land, Khalni Heart Expedition
Turn 3: Land, Harrow, drop a new Expedition, activate old Expedition, drop a Ruin Ghost
Turn 4: Land, drop the Avenger, activate the expedition and ruin ghost's ability

= 7 * 3/4 plant tokens on turn 4. More if any of the land you dropped were Khalni Gardens.

No, it's not the fastest deck ever, nor is it perfect, but it's won me a good amount of games. A fetchland the next turn pretty much guarantees a win, assuming you've survived to turn 4 (not always so easy against some decks these days =/)

I love how everyone is I JUST THOUGHT OF A COOL COMBO. "omg RITE OF REPLICATION!" or "OMG DOUBLING SEASON" for a card.

All I can say, is duh, people. That's like thinking of using land to cast mana.

I really like this guy, but then, I've always been a fan of plant life in it's many incarnations. However, my biggest problem with him is that there aren't many plants in the game of Magic, at least not many that have too much playability. Most of the plant cards in the game are walls of some variety, and the ones that aren't tend to have another color attached, making it extremely difficult to make a mono-green plant deck, which just seems totally wrong to me. In Worldwake though, he obviously works well with the Khalni Garden and the Snapping Creeper, but that only makes him the king of the playground. Both other plant cards in the set are fairly weak, and even in Standard, the only other plant is the Mosstodon, and he's fairly useless in any deck that could utilize this lord. I mean, honestly, considering what Zendikar is about, you'd have thought that a majority of the basic green creatures would be plants, given that t... (see all)
