You could activate the ability on an already-tapped creature, but unless something else taps it again before it resolves, it wouldn't have any effect.

"So you can tap any creature with an enchantment on it? This card rocks!"

So how many times is somebody going to think that?

still good in my Kor Spiritdancer deck. It's a control deck so if I have to burn one mana to tap down your best creature, so be it.

My favourite pseudo-pacifism effect of all time is Kirtar's Desire. I like unconventional ways of saying "enchanted creature can't attack or block". This card requires a long-term mana investment to hold down the creature, so you're better off playing Pacifism or Bonds of Faith.

It's a highly effiiecent card, that can shut down a creature of any size. On top of that it really works great for multicolor decks.

This is one of the best limited cards from the Innistrad block, it should always be a high pick.

Yes, Arrest is more powerful, but also three times as expensive to cast ( understandably, this might suck down more mana through the course of a game, but that's another matter. ) And Pacifism won't and can't shut down activated abilities. And since you can drop it T1( though likely T2 in response to their T1, ) that means you can shut down a lot of mana acceleration creatures early in the game where their impact is greater.

Might not see much use in highly competitive tourneys, but in the realms of kitchen table and limited where you're likely mana-rich, it's certainly an attractive option. This card saved a lot of games for me at the pre-release event.

@jwish27 No, you can't, the creature is already tapped so you can't tap it again unless you can untap it somehow.
