Aun, this doesn't stop Marit Lage or Emrakul, however its stops mono-red decks quite easily...This kept Kithkin decks competitive during the time when LOR-SHA was in standard...

Nice one-drop against mono-red, or even partial red. It's pretty useful in casual.
