i know that the new rules state that walls simply have defender rather than it being a type effect, but if you look at the printings of the old cards than they say "walls can't attack". so if you manage to find a place where people still play by relly old rules, this guy can give one creature a turn defender.

Hey guys, remember that legend Mistform Ultimus? How about I have a vastly superior version of his ability (since I can target something other than myself), cost half as much, and not be legendary? You think that'd be cool with ol' Ulty?
Oh, try not to mention that I can also completely stop an opponents' creature from receiving any tribal buffs. Don't want him to feel too useless.

I think people have already said all there is to say about this guy's tribal/combo interactions, so I'll just add that I can't look at it (/him/her/they/me) without picturing it saying "Oh, hello."
