I personally really like this guy in limited. I often run red with infect for the removal and double strike and this guy complements it very well. he turns on bloodshot trainee, and helps you be a little more aggressive and make trading decisions harder for your opponent. Not a great card but definitely a role player in limited.

this card it awesome! This guy is great in my red deck that bladetusk boar fireshrieker deck.

Besides, he is right at where he should be as a common: usable but not overpowered or broken in any way.
