This or evolving wilds go into almost any multicolor deck I make. Terrific mana fixer, makes my five color deck run smooth as silk. Well, that and Joiner Adept :)

It's funny how Terramorphic Expanse and Evolving Wilds are rated waaaaaay better than the original fetch lands, like Grasslands, Rocky Tar Pit, Mountain Valley etc. These are literally the same speed as the old ones. The others are actually possibly better (but probably about even) because they fetch up specifically Mountain or Forest, Island or Swamp, and you can pull out the Ravnica lands.

The argument against them is that they come into play tapped, and Terramorphic Expanse doesn't. And that the Mirage fetch lands come into play tapped. The beauty of it is that even though the Mirage lands come into play tapped, when they fetch out the land it comes into play untapped. So either way you look at it, Terramorphic brings the land into play tapped, and the old ones come into play tapped first, but in a two color deck the Mirage lands are probably a little better. The only argument I have against the Mirage lands is that you can hit Landfall twice in one turn with Terramorphic Expans... (see all)

@ Evilcleavage

"The others are actually possibly better (but probably about even) because they fetch up specifically Mountain or Forest, Island or Swamp"

On what plane of existance is limiting your choice to one of two basic lands better than being able to choose from all five?

@ Concerned Bystander

Take a look at the card Badlands. The oracle text lists it as a Swamp Mountain. So with a card that says "search for a Mountain or Swamp and put it into play (tapped or untapped)" you can actually play Badlands since it doesn't specify BASIC land, just a Mountain or Swamp.

This card is extremely overrated imo even for type 2.

People are raving about how this can fetch all 5 basic lands but its only useful in a deck running no more than two colors. This card is all too disappointing in my sliver deck. If I run 8 of these and basic lands, I can get access to all 5 colors and cast all my slivers by 5th turn. While the better alternative is actually triple color tapped lands from alara or vivid lands from Lorwyn, also comes into play tapped but gives me all 5 colors in turn 2.

If this is not good in a multi-color deck and not nearly as good as THE fetchlands then what is this thing good for?

They've had the same art ever since it was first put in. And it's amazing-art-wise and playability-wise! Sure, it's no $20 fetchland for your $300 standard deck, but for budget players, it's awesome!
