I can see this as being worth it in a tribal deck that had tribe- and color-enhancing enchantments and creatures on the field already. The first thing that comes to mind is Soldiers. If you have two Honor of the Pure, several Veteran Armorsmiths and Swordsmiths, a Field Marshal, and a Captain of the Watch in play, your 5 mana will result in some pretty big tokens, because you can pick color and creature type. The issue is that you have to already be set up for it to really be effective.

It is amazing into a Sliver deck. Still its ability is huge expensive.
Think in Æther Charge + Volrath's Laboratory. You can get a 2/2 beast and hit 4 to your opponent.
So, not so bad in the right constructed deck.

Because tokens take on the same name as their creature type, could this card be combo-ed with Relentless Rats? Technically the Tokens created would all be called Relentless Rats if you chose Relentless Rats as the creature type. Wouldn't the same then go for the Brothers Yamazaki?

@Zorgath: "Relentless Rats" isn't an accepted creature type. It's not on the list.

I'd love to see a similar, but more flexible card design based on this. First, let you tinker with the color/type every time you activate it, instead of just once when you bring it out. Second, let you tinker with other things about the token... maybe make any power/toughness combination that adds up to 4, for instance. And/or let you pay more to add various abilities. There's lots of fun design space here.

Seems good for a Reaper King EDH deck.

This, and Riptide Replicator
