Works AMAZING in b/w lifedrain deck

This plus Divinity of Pride or Serra Ascendant

@Jacksjokeshop - one REALLY easy counter to Magisters Sphinx or Saurin Markov, is Tainted Sigil.

P1 - "Magister's sphinx... you're at 10"
P2 - "Saccing Tainted Sigil... Nope!"

Not that anyone cares, but if you have Ajani's Serra Avatar token out and one of these, your life total will double.

But with two walls, your life total will end at four times what it started it. Say you have 10 life, the first wall would trigger off the token, putting you to 20 life. Then the second one would put you at 40. A third and four will put you at 80 and 160 respectively.

But who cares about that, even with "just" a Woolly Thoctar you are gaining enough life each turn that your opponent couldn't hope to race you.

This was the first rare magic card I ever got. To be honest, its quite good in a naya deck. it allows you to keep on the attack, if you have strong enough creatures to keep up with the damage you take.

Of course, since its a wall, it can help with the damage you take, but I bet most people use this with Serra Avatar and the like. Then again, I'm just a newbie magic player stating his opinions...

@JaxsonBateman: It's even better than that. If you have multiple Walls of Reverence, the triggers for all of them go on the stack, and then trigger one at a time. So if you had four of this and a Serra Avatar, your life would multiply by 16 each turn.

Use this with Serra Avatar on the field and things get fun fast.

I briefly considered putting this into an Exalted deck, but that idea didn't last long.

Assuming an ideal draw:

T1: Forest, Noble Hierarch
T2: Land... you've got 3 mana. This costs 4, can't play it yet.
T3: Land, you've got 4 mana. Time for Rafiq of the Many, or Elspeth, Knight-Errant if you have her.
T4: Land, you've got 5 mana. Time for Battlegrace Angel, or Finest Hour, if you have it.
T5: Land or no Land, it's time to catch up on whichever cards you didn't play the previous 1 or 2 turns.
T6: Maybe you will play this now.

That's already 4 moderately high CMC cards. Assuming your deck had three of the above, which would you drop for this?

The convenient window for a wall, or any big early move, is T2. The option you select has to be 3 mana or less. Wall of Denial, Giltspire Avenger, Rhox War Monk, J... (see all)

Glyph of Destruction, anyone?
...
Apparently not. How about we add Fling to the mix? Kill an attacking creature, gain 11 life, then deal 11 damage to any target.

This is how walls should be. They shouldn't be just big chunks of HP unable to do anything but stall one fatty.

I played against a friend's esper deck today. I had this, Privileged Position and an Ageless Entity enchanted with Lifelink and Asha's Favor.

I got up to 262,462 life before he was able to destroy it (with a couple more lifegain spells thrown in). He ended up destroying everything I had and got most of his deck out before he milled himself to death.

Don't underestimate the usefulness of this.
