Just got one of these in a trade today after an AVR draft. It's going to make players go on a rampage... Can't wait! Also playing it with an Azami, Lady of Scrolls, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, and Ertai, Wizard Adept.

Question. Does Kira's ability also affect YOUR spells. Say i wanted to enchant one of my creatures or cast some sort of power boosting instant. Would kiras effect counter my spell? Or does it only apply when an opponent targets one of my creatures?

They wouldn't be able to target it again; vines of the vastwood prevents that. So they effectively wasted 2 removal spells with no chance of redemption. :)

This is so bad it dies to 2 swords to plowshares.
You guys are idiots its amazing since in eternal formats ie legacy and vintage edh doesn't count there are not that many board wipes used since they're not needed, for example noone uses oblivion stone, and the fact that nimble mongoose is actually the centerpiece of some decks since it has shroud, and that thrun sees play in legacy. These are all reasons why its amazing using targeted removal against him is a losing game, and untill you get rid of him it is almost impossible to actually do anything against your opponents board.
Also if you use doj or wog against him then cool your not saving it until there's better targets on the board and i don't have to worry about overextending.

Yes taysman, this card states if it would be the target of any spell or ability this turn for the 1st time counter it, doesn't matter if it's yours or your opponent.
