Holy shit.. Incredible AoE card.

It's definitely something that would cripple almost any combo

Well, last time i checked you can't cast sorceries during your combat step, so youd see overrun coming a mile away. Just cast this after they attack and voila. haha

This works well with gain control spells against shroud creatures since it gets rid of shroud, then you can persuade/control magic/whatever the hell you want to take control or destroy it.

playing it with a pyroclasm is pretty obvious, but, what about the split second? how exactly does that work? i mean players cant play something in response is it? is that what this is all about? or does it not stack with pyroclasm? it looks too good to be true! can someone enlighten us pls? :p

@ StagemasterK He's saying that an opponent plays an Overrun and attacks with them all (Like player A attacks with 7 1/1's which are now 4/4's and have trample) and he plays it during the time to play instants after the declare attackers step (which turns them all into 0/2's with no abilities). It's not played as a response to it (making them into 7 2/4's with trample) but after Overrun is done resolving.

EDIT: No after checking the rules, the creatures would lose trample but not +3/+3 because continuous effects that set power and toughness are applied before continuous effects that alter it. Yes very complex.

And oh my goodness such a good card at worst its a black Fog or Holy Day. At best it makes a coordinated assault into a disaster.

i like to use it to make evryone a 0/2.

but seriosly, you can also use it on yourself if a creature hase some negitive effect your not quite rety to deal with, but i would rather use it on the oponit right before they try to wipe my field with the goblin sharpshooter gorgon flail combo just to watch them squerm when i then swing with the gient swarm he was trying to use it on for a total of over 89 damage. (ive done it befor) or to use it after swinging with a bunch of 1/1 goblins with ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician and they block with there 13/13's or there 10/10 pro everything or the 11/11 indestructible. ( my freind plays a behemoth deck where he almost never actualy playes anything for it's costs. aether rift, elvish piper, Dramatic Entrance.

This is an exceedingly good card, even when compared to cards like Ovinize and Snakeform. Each of these 3 cards have their own pros and cons compared to each other.

Sudden Spoiling
Pros:
—turns ALL creatures a target player controls
—split second, blocking out response spells
Cons:
—turns creatures into 2 toughness, which can be annoying if you can only ping them for 1 damage and not kill them (assuming that's what you want to do in the first place)

Snakeform
Pros:
—turns the creature GREEN until end of turn, which can take away many restrictions and open up possibilities (including 'non-color' restrictions)
—you get to draw a card as an instant as well
Cons:
—gives the creature 1 power, which can still do damage (even as low as it may be)
—it's very costly for a spell with only 1 target

Ovinize
Pros:
—lower mana cost than others
—turns a creature into the weakest possible creature, at 0/1, which is absolutely no threat in any way on its own... (see all)

I love how this card both has Split Second and deals with shroud/protection/activated abilities. The unwary control player is beside him/herself. Such great card design. This card will be cherished forever.

I don't think people understand something.
This card makes the creature(s) 0/2.
This is not including effects that are happening outside of the creatures (like Overrun).
It's like having a Snakeformed creature with Overrun out.
All this does is set the initial P/T, not what it's going to end up as.

I think one of the funniest things i've seen was when one of my opponent's in a multiplayer game had an indestrutible Platinum Angel with Shroud, pumped up to a 10/10. Topdecking this when he was sitting at -3 life was so amazing. Oh you can't lose the game...well NOW YOU CAN!
