This card is an excellent piece of control for proliferate decks. Use it to remove problematic permanents so your infect creatures can get through for those last couple points of damage.

To make this card effective, here is my idea:
turn 1: Surge Node
turn 2: Everflowing Chalice , then charge chalice to 2 with Surge Node.
turn 3: Lux Cannon, if you hit a 3rd land, you can charge it with Surge Node.
turn 4: Boom!

Rings of Brighthearth is pretty sweet with this. Not only can you charge it faster, you can blow up 2 permanents instead of one. I've cleared my opponent's entire board with 2 Lux Cannon's & a Ring.
