The best part, in my opinion, is that its third ability triggers on going to the graveyard, not leaving the battlefield. Want to ensure the stuff you exile never comes back? Slap down a March of the Machines and have it exile itself.

I use this as some solid removal in my Karn, Silver Golem EDH and I noticed a fun interaction:
Exile your opponents' stuff with Helvault, and then make Helvault a creature with Karn and Exile Helvault with Helvault. It doesn't go to the graveyard, their stuff doesn't come back. Also the flavour of putting the Helvault inside itself is hilarious.
