@Enchantment_Removal: Uh, yeah, that would have actually made this absurdly broken.

I myself like the fact that now, each color has its own "opponent color targeted" card.

Combust for red,
Autumn's Veil for green,
Flashfreeze for blue,
Deathmark for black, and
Celestial Purge for white.

Just the fact that each does something iconic to its color to the opponent colors is nice now that there is an actual cycle.

Play the mind game; cast this during your upkeep.

Definitely a Canadian dryad. Look at all those maple leaves floating around.

Actually the list of black counterspells is a bit longer than two. Countersquall, Dromar's Charm, error from Trial // ErrorColorless, Perplex, Punish Ignorance, Soul Manipulation, UndermineColorless, Withering Boon and the already mentioned Dash Hopes. but of course, all but two of these cards are also blue.

The use of this card is maybe more for legacy and vintage. where we already see Guttural Response, which is worse in every point except it's manacost.

A good trick with this, is to use it as a Overmaster leaving the opponent in the though choice.

I like the fact that it can both counter counterspells and removal.

@internox10
In all recent core sets, each color gets a card that hates its enemy colors. There was even an article a few weeks ago talking about how the green one would be new. How could you NOT call it?

I think Vines of the Vastwood is better at protecting against removal, but this might be more desirable given that Mana Leak is back. I'm not really sure how to evaluate this for limited.

i feel like this should have had split-second, so it wouldn't be able to be countered.
